The Problem

Current farm software tells growers what happened.

Almost none of it tells them what to do next.

Specialty crop farmers plant millions of dollars worth of crops every season using experience, spreadsheets, generic extension recommendations, and trial and error.

The result: lower yields, soil degradation, unsold harvests, and unnecessary financial risk — on operations that already run on razor-thin margins.

The Platform

Four modules. One decision engine.

From rotation planning through pre-season contracts — every decision a vegetable grower makes, supported by data.

Crop Rotation AI

Enter your previous crop, soil conditions, zone, and planting month. Get recommended crops with disease risk, nutrient impact, and profit projections.

Profitability Engine

Forecast yield, revenue, gross margin, labor requirements, and return per acre before you commit a single seed.

Soil Health Intelligence

Track rotation history, nutrient depletion, organic matter, and biology. Get a soil score plus amendment and regenerative recommendations.

Buyer Marketplace

Buyers post desired crops, volumes, and delivery windows. Farmers receive pre-season matches and contract opportunities.

Live ROI Calculator

See your payback in seconds.

Enter your real numbers. We apply the conservative low end of published rotation, nutrient, and marketplace outcomes — no marketing math.

Estimates use the conservative low end of: +15% yield (USDA-SARE rotation trials), 30% fertilizer reduction on the ~25% of input spend that is fertility (NRCS 590), and 60% recovery of unsold harvest via pre-season contracts (USDA ERS / ASAP). Illustrative, not a guarantee.

    Office of the President

    Biography

Raised by a classically trained British chef, Dorian grew up valuing the link between farming and the table. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he carries the discipline and mission focus of his service into every venture he leads. Hands-on work through agricultural cohorts later revealed how many produce growers still run their operations on paper and disconnected tools. Drawing on an Economics degree from Indiana University, an MBA from Colorado State University, and 15 years in financial services, he founded BAU Farm Intelligence to help produce farmers plan smarter, forecast better, and grow more profitable operations.

    Marketing

    Biography

Diamond believes the story behind a head of lettuce matters as much as the harvest itself. A Marketing graduate of Baker College, she brings more than 17 years of marketing experience and a deep entrepreneurial track record in the Beauty and Personal Care sector, where she built brands from the ground up. At BAU Farm Intelligence, she leads brand, demand generation, and grower acquisition — building the voice that connects specialty crop farmers with the buyers, partners, and communities who depend on them. Her focus is simple: make the platform feel as trustworthy and grower-first as the farmers it serves.

FAQ

Common questions

Still on the fence? Here's what most farms ask before signing up.

Is there a contract or annual commitment?

No. Every plan is month-to-month and you can cancel anytime from your account settings. Enterprise customers can opt into an annual agreement for a discount.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — pilot farms in NC, SC, GA, TN, AL, and FL get 30 days of Farmer Pro at no cost. Outside the pilot, every plan has a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first month.

What if I farm outside USDA Zones 7–9?

The crop calendar and rotation AI are tuned for Zones 7–9 today. The planner, profitability calculator, and buyer marketplace work anywhere — but you'll get the most value if you're in the Southeast. Reach out and we'll tell you honestly whether to wait.

Do I need to be technical to use it?

No. If you can use a smartphone, you can use BAU. Farmer Pro and Enterprise include guided onboarding and a real human walking you through your first plan.

How is my farm data used?

Your field data, yields, and contracts are yours. We never sell farm data to third parties or chemical companies. Anonymous, aggregated benchmarks may be shown across the platform — you can opt out at any time.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime; we prorate the difference. Most farms start on Basic during planning season and move to Pro once they begin selling into the buyer marketplace.

What does the marketplace transaction fee cover?

Buyer matching, contract templates, dispute support, and payment handling on contracts signed through BAU. Farmer Pro is 2%; Enterprise is 1.5%, negotiable at volume. Direct sales outside the marketplace are never charged a fee.

Do you support multiple farms or a co-op?

Yes — Farm Enterprise includes multi-farm dashboards, unlimited fields and seats, API access, and a dedicated success manager. Co-ops and processors usually start here.
