Records are the asset, not the paperwork

The farms that get contracts, loans, and grants are rarely the biggest. They are the ones that can prove what happened last season.

Every buyer conversation, loan application, and grant form ends at the same place: show me your numbers. Acres planted, yield harvested, cost per acre, delivery dates met. The farm that can produce those in an afternoon wins work the farm that cannot will never be offered.

Start with four things

  • What went in each field, and when.
  • What came out of it, by weight, and when.
  • What it cost — seed, inputs, labour, fuel.
  • What it sold for, and to whom.

That is enough to calculate cost per acre, breakeven price, and a yield history a buyer can trust. Everything else in BAU builds on top of those four columns.

It is also the basis of the Record-Verified Grower credential: the credential is not a claim about how you farm, it is evidence that your records hold up.
