How much profit can an acre of vegetables make?

There is no single profit figure for tomatoes, peppers or squash. Revenue per acre is saleable yield multiplied by price per unit; estimated profit subtracts the costs you include. Add packing, cooling, delivery, land rent and other expenses that apply to your farm. A published budget is a starting point, not a promise of earnings.

What is your crop's breakeven price?

Divide total costs per acre by the saleable units per acre. Use the same unit for yield and price, and account for culls before comparing a buyer's offer. Wholesale terminal prices are market references, not necessarily the price paid at your farm.
