What we measure

Emissions
Diesel & gasoline combustion, synthetic N fertilizer (N₂O), agricultural lime, and tillage-induced soil carbon loss.
Sequestration
Cover crops, reduced tillage, no-till, perennial plantings, agroforestry, and biochar amendments — using COMET-Planner coefficients.
Net footprint
tCO₂e per acre and per unit sold. Negative = you're a net sink, which unlocks carbon-credit revenue.

Methodology

We use published, defensible coefficients — not black-box numbers.

  • Combustion: EPA GHG Emission Factors Hub (2024) — mobile diesel & gasoline.
  • Nitrous oxide: IPCC 2019 Refinement, Vol. 4 Ch. 11 — 1% direct EF from synthetic N.
  • Soil sequestration: USDA COMET-Planner v3.1 Southeast defaults (Zones 7–9).
  • Practice standards: USDA NRCS Conservation Practice Standards (327, 340, 345, 590, 612).
